Coffee Beans & Tomato Leaves started as an instagram account to connect with the gardening community in Houston (which is a great community by the way). I soon found myself inspired to live more sustainably –less wasteful, more simply. The blog was created in 2025 to help share all the useful tools, tricks, hacks, and inspiration that I’ve discovered (and continue to discover) on this journey.
I decided to give swedish dish cloths a try back in 2020 when paper towels weren’t as easy to come by. Much to my surprise, it was an easy transition. They are incredibly absorbent and easy to clean plus they dry fast. Goodbye single-use paper towels.
I’ll admit, I didn’t even realize that dryer sheets don’t actually decompose, but once I knew I switched immediately to wool dryer balls. The perk I didn’t see coming: my laundry dries faster and my sheets dry significantly better.

SEEDS
Seeds are significantly cheaper than transplants and they don’t come with plastic pots. I still buy transplants, but I’m working towards using mostly seeds. My wallet thanks me.
